French Press & Aeropress

French Press

The rich taste of the French Press is hard to beat. 

These directions are for a 1 Liter French Press.

  • Generally, filling and electric grinder half way up - to the top of the grinding section, with coffee will be plenty. It should weigh approximately 43 grams.
  • Add an inch of hot water (195°F) and wait 45 seconds.
  • After 45 seconds, slowly pour in hot water until the French Press is nearly full.
  • Wait 3 minutes. (The total brewing time of the French press should be 4 minutes.)
  • Attach the top and slowly/gently plunge the coffee.
  • Pour the coffee immediatley

   Aeropress

The Aeropress is the most creative and flexible way to make coffee.

  • We recommend a 1:16 ratio. 1 Gram of coffee to 16 grams of water.
  • Directions for 1 cup.
  • Place aeropress filter inside of the screw on cap.
  • Screw cap onto the tube.
  • Place a coffee mug onto a scale or hard surface. Place tube with cap onto the top of the mug.
  • Add 15 grams of coffee into tube.
  • Pour 40 grams of hot water, stir a bit. Wait 10 seconds.
  • Pour remaining 200 grams of water into the tube.
  • Wait 45 seconds, then insert plunger into the tube.
  • Slowly press down the coffee, pause if you feel heavy resistance. Do not stop until it is fully pressed.

Aeropress (Inverted)

The inverted method is a popular way to use the aeropress.

  • We recommend a 1:16 ratio. 1 Gram of coffee to 16 grams of water
  • Start by setting the plunger tube on top of the scale with the plunger facing up.
  • Insert the filter into the screw on cap.
  • Screw the cap onto the hollow tube.
  • Place the hollow tube on top of the plunger, just enough to cover the rubber.
  • Add 15 grams of coffee.
  • Add 50 grams of water. Stir and wait 10 seconds.
  • Add 190 more grams of water. Let it sit about 1 minute and 30 seconds.
  • Then CAREFULLY turn it over into a coffee mug or container and gently press until until it has finished pressing.
